Birding

Birds - birds - Everywhere!   If you are a bird watcher, then surely you know that Uganda  is a must visit location to add to your list.  With more than 1,000 bird species, which make up over half of the birds in Africa, you cannot fail to encounter sights only dreamt of.  Some of these species are globally threatened, endemic and near endemic, forest/papyrus/woodland rarities, and vulnerable bird species.  You can expect to spot rare and exotic birds like the African Green Broadbill, Shoebill, Grant’s Bluebill, Archer’s Robin-Chat, Great Blue Turaco, and Dwarf Honeyguide.

A variety of birds can be seen most anywhere in the country, with 300 species found within Kampala alone!   But for a true birding safari packge, we recommend any of these locations:  Bwindi, Mgahinga, Kibale, Mt. Elgon, Rwenzoris, Budongo Forest, Echuya Forest, Murchison, Queen Elizabeth, and the Nile River around Jinja.

We hire only certified bird guides to help maximize your opportunities and education while exploring.  So, let us create the perfect itinerary for your birding adventure!
